When I was a child, I used to play a game with my friends called – “That’s Mine”.  We would sit on the porch and as nice cars drove by, whoever claimed the nicest car first by saying, “that’s mine”, that car would belong to that person. We would turn the pages of certain magazines and whenever we saw a beautiful home on the page, whoever claimed the house first, by saying, “that’s mine”, that house would belong to that person. 

What’s sad is that as we grew up, we stopped playing that game!  We stopped believing, we stopped claimimg, we stopped dreaming, and we stopped hoping! And the same with of you. It seems as though to “grow up” means we have to “dream down”. Many of is lost our creativity and our capacity to imagine. Becoming grown ups has radically impaired our ability to look for the BEST in life and lay hold of it. I like what K.T. Written had to say about dreaming: “Your dreams do not have expiration dates on them. Take a deep breath and try again”

How true!  The only reason you stopped claiming “that’s mine”  is because you decided to buy into the notion that dreaming big, thinking big, hoping big and having big faith is for children or for lazy people or for people who will never amount to anything in life!  This sad and untrue! As we teter on the conclusion of one year and tip toe on the precipice of a new year, I want to encourage you to begin to exclaim and proudly proclaim – that’s  mine!  Joy – that’s mine!  Strength – that’s mine! Better physical health – that’s mine! A deeper relationship with God – that’s mine! Impacting my world – that’s mine!

Get excited again. Begin searching out how you can best make a difference and be a blessing to someone and claim that as your way of service – it’s yours!  Use your imagination in the new year approaching and don’t place your own vision under arrest again! Pardon and parole your God given creativity, face forward and DON’T STOP UNTIL YOU ACHIEVE WHAT YOU CONCIEVE!  You have greater in you! There is POWER already worming within you!  But you must decide what’s yours and go after it like your life depends on it!

Because it does.

Leaving your place of discontent, discomfort and displeasure is most necessary if you are going to EXPERIENCE and LIVE a great life!  In part one of this blog, I shared three steps you must take in order to leave your frustrated place – your disappointed place. Today, I want to offer one more essential element that will aid you as you leave the places and spaces of unfruitfulness in your life:

4. Adopt A “Never Give Up” Mindset!  Make no mistake about it, as you begin to walk the path of change, development, and growth, it will be easy to quit. Your body, your spirit will tell you that you can’t change, that the process is too hard. And the real truth of the matter is – IT IS HARD!  But when you renew your mind –  daily, and when you pray daily for the strength to stay in the change race – one day at a time – no matter what – you will begin to notice that you have left the emotional, mental and physical enviornments that in times past, seemed so hard to leave.

Perhaps you experience some setbacks and roadblocks as you begin to leave your place of failure – NEVER GIVE UP BELIEVING, PRAYING, AND WORKING FOR CHANGE! 

People may write you off and ignore you – NEVER GIVE UP BELIEVING, PRAYING, AND WORKING FOR CHANGE! 

Some will never see you beyond your acussers, the misinformation, the gossip, however, you must – NEVER GIVE UP BELIEVING, PRAYING, AND WORKING FOR CHANGE! 

You can do it!  You can escape the place in your life that has bankrupted your confidence, your joy, and your peace. And nothing will be greater than arriving at your place of better and greater!

As many of you read this, you may discover that you are in a particular place and space in your life that is , and has been perhaps for quite some time,  challenging, difficult, and stressful. Some are in a place of emotional bankruptcy. The scars, scrapes, and scuffs left by the person or persons in your family or inner circle of so-called friends, have worn you down and out.  

Still others are grapling with financial, health, and spiritual  confrontations that have left you in a place of exhaustion, fatigue and weariness!  How you arrived at this place in your life really does not matter. The reality is you are here. And the all-embracing, predominant, and prevailing question is what are you going to do about it?

  You can leave the place of discontent, regret, and uneasiness. 

1. Decide you  want to leave this place you find yourself in!  The reality is that while many people complain about where they are in life, when it comes down to it, many are comfortable in a complaining place.

2. Count the cost! As you prepare to embrace the challenge of leaving dissatisfaction, heartbreak, failure,etc. you have to assess what you will have to give up in order to leave the place you are in. What if it cost family relationships?  What if it cost friendships?  There is the old adage “blood is thicker than water, but many of us find ourselves addicted, behind, and damaged because of family. Are you prepared to respectfully cut off anyone and or anything close to you that is killing you and keeping you stuck in the stagnant place?

3. Believe!  If you don’t believe you can, YOU WON’T!  Step out on faith and begin to look for resources, individuals and organizations that can help you leave the suffering place of sadness and discontent. 

Winning is defined as “the act of a person that wins”. To win is to succeed through effort or trying!  Each and every single one of you is a winner and are already winning! How? By virtue of the fact that everyday you are blessed to get up, you rise and put forth the effort to be better today than you were on yesterday! You have never been content with just getting to each day’s finish line. You are a man or woman whose heart’s desire is to go through each day’s finish line!  Winning in life is not about finishing first. Just finish! Don’t try to finish cute, or with swag! Just finish today! None of us can predict exactly what each day will bring. We might stumble, we might fall, we may even end up in pain as we run toward our finish lines, but don’t stop just because it’s embarrassing, or your ego and pride are wounded along the way.

Someone said that “winners are not people who never fall, fail, or faint. They are people who never quit”.  Just because you may have not acquired a lot stuff, don’t give up – you’re winning!  Just because your name is not known by the world, don’t give up – you’re winning!  Just because you may suffer rejection after rejection, don’t give up – you’re winning! In the face of adversity and obscurity, you are growing and learning and transforming and becoming  wiser and wiser!  THAT is winning!  Sacred scripture reminds us, “the race is not given to the swift nor the strong but he who endures until the end”(Ecclesiastes 9:11) And because you choose to endure and fight and believe and stay in the race, I declare – you are already WINNING!

This website and this blog page is dedicated to prompting you and pushing you to live unlimited. When someone lives life unlimited, they live unrestricted by the average, mundane, and slave-like thinking of family, friends and colleagues. Unlimited living is living unconfined to average thinking and believing. Unlimited living is thinking BIG and fighting for the right to leave small minded belief and faith, in order to do the impossible!
